I had an error with windows update today which Microsoft fixed, but I'd like to do a clean install of Windows 11.
Bitlocker is enabled so I can't delete the partitions to install from usb.
Is there a written procedure for doing this?

You can use the diskpart utility to clean the disk.
Boot from the installation media and when you get to the part of the installation that asks, 'Where do you want to install Windows,' run the diskpart utility to clean the disk.
- Press Shift+F10 from inside Windows Setup screen to open a command prompt window.
- Type diskpart and press the Enter key.
- Type list disk to find your disk number.
- Type select disk (e.g., select disk0) to choose the disk you want to format.
- Finally, type clean to wipe the disk completely.
- Exit diskpart and install Windows.

You're very welcome.
It's not essential but if you want it after you do a clean install of W11 or you have another PC, you can use the HP cloud recovery tool to make a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W11, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility:

You can also clean the disk, exit out of the plain W11 installation, and then use the HP cloud recovery software - created USB flash drive.

That's a good question.
Normally, if there is only one physical drive, it is disk0.
Does it show the size of each disk?
That usually helps you determine which one to clean.
Your USB flash drive may also show up as a disk.
For instance, if disk 0 is 500 GB and disk 1 is 32 GB, one is the notebook's drive and one is the USB flash drive.
