Hello, I have an HP Pavilion dv7-4285dx Notebook PC from 2011 and I have recently wanted to reset my laptop to factory settings to the way it was when it was new however, I cannot find my box with the CD for reinstalling windows. I tried to go online with windows to get it manually into an empty USB drive but, once I put my information it told me that I must go through HP to do that since it was prebuilt with HP. So when I went through HP cloud recovery tool to do just that it asked me for the product ID and when I input it correctly, it told me it could not find it. The format was "EGT76D#ABA" but mine for some reason had an extra digit before the hashtag. I then tried to go about it using HP recovery manager I found online and that ended up not working either. How can I go about this?

Hi:
If you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 Home Premium product key on your notebook's case, you can make your own bootable W7 USB installation flash drive by downloading the W7 Home Premium English ISO file from the link below.
The link will be good for 24 hours from the time of this reply.
Use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a USB flash drive so that it is bootable.
After W7 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.
