I need to factory reset the HP I14120 Qualcomm Snapdragon X5 LTE tablet, as I haven’t used it for a long time and don’t remember the password.

I don't want to throw it in the trash.

Hi @Tavi_aus

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

To factory reset your HP I14120 Qualcomm Snapdragon X5 LTE tablet when you don't remember the password, you can perform a hard reset by following these steps:

Steps to Hard Reset:

Power Off the Tablet:

  • Ensure the tablet is completely powered off.

Enter Recovery Mode:

  • Press and hold the Power button and Volume Up button simultaneously.
  • Continue holding the buttons until the HP logo appears on the screen, then release both buttons.
  • This should take you into the recovery mode menu.

Navigate in Recovery Mode:

  • Use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to navigate through the options in the recovery menu.
  • Select "Wipe data/factory reset" using the Power button to confirm the selection.

Confirm Reset:

  • Use the volume buttons to highlight "Yes" when prompted to confirm the factory reset, and then press the Power button to begin the reset process.

Reboot the Tablet:

  • After the factory reset is complete, you will be taken back to the recovery menu.
  • Select "Reboot system now" and press the Power button to restart the tablet.

This process will erase all data on your tablet, including settings and passwords, and restore it to its original factory settings. Make sure the device has enough battery power before proceeding to avoid interruptions during the process.
