Hey,
Do anyone know how to recover the license key of Win8 on a HP Elitebook 840 G1?
I was pretty sure the license was under my PC, but i thought worng.
So i didnt extract the Win8 license before installing linux for a project.
Earlier i thought of reinstalling i thought might as well install linux on the laptop then going back to Windows later.
It happens that under the computer it just say "Pro Windows 8" on a Windows sticker.
So i kinda lost my key, the one it was preloaded with.
Any idea?

Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
You can run this utility to retrieve the product key: https://github.com/Superfly-Inc/ShowKeyPlus/releases/download/ShowKeyPlus6125/ShowKeyPlus.zip
But ... you can NOT run that in Linux, so you would need to boot your PC from Windows media.
If you do some Googleing, you will find places you can go that will provide instructions on how to create WinPE boot media. And, once you have that, you can boot from that and then install the utility.
We can proceed when you provide the information.
Thanks
