HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fc0000 (733M5AV)

I'm planning to install Ubuntu instead of Windows, however I have two questions:

  1. How can I fix partitions? If HP_TOOLS is not necessary, I can delete it. See the picture below.
  2. Can I find all of my laptop's (I mean hardware wise) drivers in Linux?

I'm a long-time user of Ubuntu, but HP does not provide official Linux support -- so I can only offer you my personal suggestions.

First, the HP Tools are Windows apps -- and as such, will NOT run in Ubuntu, so there is no need to retain that partition.

Second, HP supplies no Linux drivers, and the lack of Linux drivers is the single biggest issue in switching to Linux from Windows.  Either the drivers are readily available, or they are not -- it really is a "binary" situation. If the former, you are OK; if the latter, you are out of luck.

IF you replace the preloaded Windows OS with a Linux distro, or add a Linux distro, then you assume full responsibility for maintaining that -- including solving any problems with booting the other OS and/or installing the other OS.

Modern PCs with UEFI, instead of the older BIOS, are especially difficult to install because you have to go into the UEFI settings and make several changes before you can even boot from a USB stick -- and we are unable to assist in that work.

Your best bet for support now is to contact the support forum of the distro you are using.

Since you are using Ubuntu, go here: https://ubuntuforums.org/

Good Luck
