Is this something that HP Support Assistant prompted you to do? Or is this something you are forcing on your own?

 

If the first, the update is likely to finish, you just have to wait it out.

 

If the second, this is a really BAD situation because if the update does not complete, you will eventually have to shut down the laptop and that is very likely to "brick" it -- making it useless.
