HP ENVY x360 convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have this laptop in my posession but it now belongs to my son.  It was originally purchased by his biological father who is now deceased.  There were both login password and disk encryption in use but no way to find either one.

As there was nothing on the system of any value my son asked my help in getting access.  So I managed to wipe the disk and install a copy of Windows 10 but I have no license key for it.

Since this system was purchased from HP or an HP dealer with an installed and licensed version of Windows, I'm hoping I can get a key for this new setup from HP.

The questions are if this is possible, who to contact, what information is needed and if this will cost anything?

Thanks.

Given it had Windows 10 pre-installed. Its license key should till in BIOS. Machine will activate itself when online.
