Greetings:

I have a 17t.cn300 laptop that I purchased from HP.com.

I have been experiencing crashes, getting the below error messages.

Boot device is not found.

Please install OS on your hard disk.

Hard Disk (3F0)

F2-System Diagnostics

HP.Com/90/3F0 hard disk error

Could not find the recovery environment

I have ran the hp system diagnostics and all appears well

How do I reinstall the boot device on my laptop?

Thanks

Hi:

Use the HP cloud recovery tool on another PC to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall the HP factory software image on the drive.

Here is an info link for how to use the software:

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support

Since you have to enter the notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to make the recovery media, you will have to select the correct product number for the notebook you have as there are several listed at the link below.

HP PartSurfer

You also have to enter #ABA after the product number.

For example:  77L21AV#ABA
