I have the HP TouchSmart tx2-1010ea Notebook PC which appears to have a faulty BIOS.When powering on, the wireless led is red and the caps and num lock keys flash intermittently at the same time. I can't remember the operating system it was running last time it was working, but out of the box it came with Windows Vista. That is to say, I can't recall if I upgraded to Windows 7 on this or not.
If I hold Windows + b and power on, it beeps twice, suggesting the recovery operation is available, but the BIOS is so dead that there is nothing to recover from (at least that's how I'm interpreting it).
I want to create a BIOS recovery USB for this device. Unfortunately, this device has been retired from HP's website, so i can't find reliable official sources. The 3rd-party sources I've found show that the recovery tool for this device only repairs locally. This means I would have to be on that device itself, which is impossible in this instance. And it also means I can't create a bootable recovery USB from this.
What can be done to successfully create a BIOS recovery USB to bring this old device back to life?
Thanks.
