You're welcome.
In that case you may need to contact our HP phone support to check the availability if the recovery media for your laptop:
HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:
- Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
- 2) Click on “Continue as guest”.
- 3) Enter the serial of your device.
- 4) Select the country from the drop-down.
- 5) Click on “Show Options”.
Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
Secondly, You may attempt these steps and check if it helps to restore Win7:
- Shutdown the laptop.
- Power on the laptop and immediately hit the f8 key repeatedly on the keyboard (7-8 times).
- This should bring up the Windows advanced options.
- In that list of options, please select "Last known good configuration" and hit enter.
Hope this works out. If not then you need to reinstall the complete Windows.
Cheers! 🙂

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
MKazi is at your service.
I understand that your HP Pavilion computer is not opening any folder. It says that you're not the administrator. to be able to open the folders. Some folders display a "content not found" message Not to worry, I'll be glad to assist you with this case.
I would like to know the following information to assist you better:
- What is the exact computer model number you have?
- Did any software changes or updates happen on the computer before this issue started?
- Since how long are you facing this issue?
- Do you have another user account to login and check?
While you respond to that. I recommend you to perform a Microsoft System Restore to rollback the computer to an earlier date when it worked fine. This will not delete your data,
Please perform the steps mentioned in "Restoring Windows 7 to a previous point" from this HP document: https://hp.care/2tp4GpW
You may try to create a new user account in Windows 7 and login. Please check if the folders can be accessed with the data. The steps mentioned in "Creating a new account in Windows 7" from this HP document: https://hp.care/2wSRsjJ
If the issue still persists then use the following instructions to restore system files in Windows 7:
-
Click Start
. In the Search box, type Command Prompt.
-
Right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
Figure : Opening Command Prompt
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
- In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and then press Enter:
sfc /scannow
Figure : System file checker
System File Checker scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct versions.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted for further assistance.
Cheers!:)

Thank you for your reply. I truly appreciate your patience and efforts.
You said that you tried to recover your HP Pavilion g7-2069wm Notebook and that did not work. Could you tell me how did you try to initiate a recovery process.
You may attempt to perform a system recovery by following the steps mentioned in "Recovery from the startup screen (during system boot) OR when unable to boot to login in screen" from this HP document: https://hp.care/2jVFGjD
NOTE: A system recovery will delete all data and your laptop will be restored to its original factory settings.
Hope this helps. Let me know the outcome.
Cheers! 🙂

1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer
2. Choose your language settings, and then click " Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer"
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
File: \Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc0000225
Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
My computer came pre installed with Windows. I didn't create a recovery disc either. Thank you for helping:)
