Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I had a HP laptop with pre-installed Windows 7. It's HDD crashed after few years. I don't have any backup of it. I got a new HDD. How can I install genuine Windows 7 in it? I tried downloading the ISO image from MS website. It asked me the Product ID. It said that it was correct but I am not allowed to download ISO image because it was pre installed. Please Help!

Hi:

Below is the link to the W7 Home Premium 64 bit ISO file.  The link will be good for 24 hours from the time of this reply.

https://download.microsoft.com/download/E/A/8/EA804D86-C3DF-4719-9966-6A66C9306598/7601.24214.180801...

Use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable, or you can use a different free utility such as Rufus.

Since the file is a retail file, and your notebook's product key is OEM, you may have to use the automated Microsoft phone activation system to activate Windows.

Thanks for the reply.Sorry for my late response.

There was a sudden increase in the number of new broadband connection in my area (for online classes during the Pandemic). Therefore the net in my area was facing issues. It automatically disconnected when I've downloaded about 2.6 GB.

My broadband provider told me that it had been fixed now. Can you please resend the link to download it?

One more thing, will it be genuine as windows came pre-installed with my laptop?

Thanking you.

You're very welcome.

The link comes from Microsoft, so it can't be more genuine than that.

Thanks a lot for your help.

But i think u didn't understand my second issue. My laptop came with pre-installed activated genuine Windows 7. If I install it, will it be still in activated state or will it say windows is not activated?

You're very welcome.

As I wrote last month, you may have to use the automated Microsoft phone activation system if you get a message that indicates that you need to activate Windows.
