To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

 

  • Did the system freeze on the HP logo, Windows loading screen, or somewhere else?
  • Were there any error messages or unusual sounds before it locked up?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

 

  • Perform a hard reset: Hold down the power button until the laptop shuts off completely. Wait a few seconds, then press the power button again to restart.
  • Disconnect external devices: Remove USB drives, printers, or other peripherals before restarting, in case one of them is interfering with startup.
  • Boot into Safe Mode: If Windows begins to load but freezes, try pressing F11 or Shift + F8 during startup to access recovery options and boot into Safe Mode.
  • Run HP Hardware Diagnostics: On startup, press Esc repeatedly, then select F2 for diagnostics. This will check if hardware issues are causing the lock-up.
