Try these steps:

For Printers with a Touchscreen Control Panel

  • Place the printer near the network router.
  • Ensure paper is loaded into the input tray.
  • Turn on the printer.
  • From the Wireless or Setup menu, select Network setup or Settings.
  • Select Restore Network Settings.

Use Wireless Setup Wizard:

  • From the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your network from the list, and enter the network password.

Print a Wireless Network Test Report:

  • Open the Wireless, Network Settings, or Setup menu and print the Wireless Network Test report.
  • Review the information and follow any instructions to troubleshoot connectivity issues.

For Printers without a Touchscreen Control Panel

Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS):

  • Place the printer near the WiFi router.
  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button for 5 seconds until the light starts flashing.
  • Within two minutes, press and hold the WPS button on the router until the connection process begins.

Using HP Smart app:

Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode:

Install HP Smart app:

Using Printer Homepage:

Use Wi-Fi Direct Connection:

  • Find the printer’s Wi-Fi Direct name and password.
  • On your computer or mobile device, open the list of available wireless networks.
  • Select the Wi-Fi Direct printer name from the list, and enter the password.

Access the Printer Homepage:

  • In a web browser, type 192.168.223.1 into the address bar.
  • If prompted to log in, enter admin for the username and the PIN from the printer label (usually located inside the cartridge access area or printer door).
  • From the Network menu on the printer homepage, select Wireless (802.11), then select Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Follow the instructions to select your Wi-Fi network name and enter the password.
