Will be attempting to restore Mom's notebook to factory setup in a few days.

Could someone give me the exact steps to follow to do this?

Win10.

Thanks!

Hi,

There are few simple steps (I've done few times):

1. Type recovery in the taskbar search box, select Recovery Manager, and then select HP Recovery Environment.

- or-

For computers or tablets with keyboards attached, press f11 while the computer boots, or press and hold f11 as you press the power button.

.
2. Select Troubleshoot from the boot options menu.
3. Select Recovery Manager, and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Thanks Banhien.

Just one more thing.

I have read that Win 10 needs to be activated before a factory reset can be done.

Is this correct?

My Mom didn't do any activation. She bought it from a store that set it up for her.

Store is 1000's of miles away now.

Advice on this appreciated .
