Hi @Ehohi_NR,
here is my laptop details: HP 14s-cf0054TU
processor: i3 7th gen
given ram: 4gb (ddr4 2133hz)
upgraded ram: 8gb+8gb (ddr4 2400)
now i need to go change my ram frequency to 2400 from 2133
after upgrading my ram: my system screen starts flickering and some keys are not fucntional.
so, i need to correct the ram frequency in bios advanced settings.
Thanks.

Hi @Raj_305,
Unlocking advanced BIOS settings is generally restricted by manufacturers like HP to protect the system from unintended damage. HP laptops typically do not provide users access to advanced BIOS settings, including memory frequency adjustments. The flickering screen and malfunctioning keys could result from compatibility issues with the new RAM, rather than the frequency setting alone.
to Address Your Issue:
Verify RAM Compatibility: Ensure that the new RAM modules are fully compatible with your laptop. Even if they are DDR4 2400, they should ideally support backward compatibility with DDR4 2133 speeds and match other specs like voltage and CAS latency.
Update the BIOS: Check HP’s support website to see if there is a BIOS update for your laptop model. Updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve compatibility issues with upgraded hardware.
Run Diagnostics: Use HP’s built-in hardware diagnostics to check for issues with the RAM. Restart your system and press Esc, then F2, and run the memory test.
Reset BIOS to Defaults: Enter the BIOS settings (press Esc or F10 during startup) and restore defaults. This ensures no conflicting settings are causing the issue.
Use Original RAM for Testing: Temporarily revert to the original RAM to see if the screen flickering and key issues persist. This will help confirm whether the new RAM is the source of the problem.
If you’re certain you need access to advanced BIOS settings: I recommend you contact phone support for further assistance.

Hi @Elohi_NR,
I've tried all the above mentioned steps to resolve my screen and keyboard issues.
now the screen flickering stops but, keyboard issue still exists.
it will be great if I'm able to change the ram frequency to match the newly installed rams.
Thanks,
Rajesh
