I am following the HP website instructions for updating the BIOS. It only offers me the option for WIindows 7 BIOS and it shows there is a newer BIOS version available. However, I have updated to Windows 10. Do I install that newer BIOS designed for Windows 7 or what do I do?
The computer Processor is Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T660 @ 2200 Mhz 2 cores

Sometimes the BIOS does have bugs and HP will release patches for those. it happens to all computers in one way or another. At least you got it working better. But keep in mind what i said before if it is working fine don't update the BIOS unless it has a major bug that is causing problems.

I would suggest not to update your BIOS unless it patches a big BUG that is causing a problem. If you really want to update then yes you can run the program from within Windows 10 and it should work fine. Please understand that if the update fails and the computer become unusable that is on you for attempting the update. As i have said unless the new BIOS has a patch the should fix a problem that you are having then there is no need to update your BIOS.

Thank you for your recommendation not to update. The version I have is from 2009 and the update is from 2010, so it probably wouldn't make much difference. I just find Windows 10 to be sluggish, and for some reason, since updating to Windows 10 Creator, it may be more sluggish. Also I have dual boot with Ubuntu, and Ubuntu has become sluggish too. But I think your recommendation is to better leave it as is, lest the cure be worse than the illness. Thank you for your consel,

The sluggishness seemed to get worse. I discovered that the existing BIOS was reported as broken, so I decided the only alternative was to update. I did, and it seems to be working fine with the updated version. Thanks again
