Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I received a Windows 10 Pro (full) DVD from HP but I'm having trouble upgrading from Single Language. I've tried from within Win10 SL Settings>>Update & Security>>Activation: Change product key; saying it's not valid. Tried inserting DVD and setup from there, only to offer an installation of Win10 SL (that's right, SL). Also tried a clean install booting to DVD, only to return back to SL after going through the whole installation process, and not once asking for a product key. Any help?

Hi @kravan

Welcome to HP Forums!

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I understand you have some issues upgrading your Windows to a Pro Edition.

I checked the product specification and this unit comes with a Windows 10 Home Single Language 64 operating system. I am not sure about the DVD that you have with you.

If you have purchased a retail copy of Windows 10 Pro, you would have received a valid Product Key which can be used to upgrade.

If this is not working, I would request you to contact Microsoft with the information and they will help you.

You can perform an easy upgrade in Windows 10

Follow these steps:

Click Start > Settings > Update & security > Activation > Change the product key then enter the new product key then click Next to Activate

Restart then check if it now says Pro.

Yes this DVD was sent from local HP tech support, not retail. It was part of the compromise process to my particular issue when purchasing this laptop. Have contacted back and currently with them on the installation matter. Hopefully, HP can install Win10 Pro for me.
