HP 350 G1 Notebook PC

Before my computer had issues where a clean install of Windows 10 was performed, the version of Windows 10 I had installed was a free version from the CNET website. To log on to my computer I used HP Simple Pass and never had an issue. I had an issue with the hard drive, so it was replaced and a clean install of Windows 10 was performed. I set up Windows Hello because I wasn't given an option to sign on with Simple Pass. I now have problems signing on; I will continually receive messages like "Your device did not recognize you", with either "move your finger to the left/right", or "try using another finger". There have been many times where it flat out refused to recognize me and gave a message stating I had to use my PIN to sign in. When I receive the message stat my device did not recognize me, I have to wait a few seconds before the white light by the scanner comes back on. I don't know if I actually have to wait for it to turn on, but nothing happens when I swipe my finger across the scanner before it does. Like I said, I never had a problem when I used Simple Pass, I would swipe my finger back and forth across the scanner until it registered. Most of the time I was swiping back and forth out of habit while my fingerprint had registered on the first swipe.

I want to know if there is a way to sign on to my computer and Windows using Simple Pass and not Windows Hello? I have deleted and registered my finger over and over while the same thin occurs, while the last time I re-registered my finger I added an additional finger to see if it was that particular finger causing the issue. It was not that finger, because I have the same issue with both fingers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try this version of the W10 SimplePass software.

Paul_Tikkanen, Thank you for the link! I never thought to check if HP SimplePass had been deleted from my computer. Evidently it had, otherwise I would not have been able to download it now. I also disabled Windows Hello, so we will see how well it works. If past experience with SimplePass is any indication, I shouldn't have to swipe numerous times to unlock my PC. Thanks again.
