How update system BIOS

I can't successfully complete a windows 10 update on my spectre laptop.  It says I need to update my system BIOS.  Talking to Microsoft - it has to at least be dated 2020 (mine is dated 2018).  How does one update the BIOS on a laptop?  Is it something I can do or do I need to pay HP to get help from them?

The bios update is free (of charge), you can do it yourself.

To help you I need to know the product number (p/n) of your notebook !

The product number (p/n) is legally allowed information about your computer. This is not sensitive data.

It is allowed to post in public.

You will find this information on the rear of your notebook printed in small alphanumeric letters.

Can you still do it on your own if the computer is more than 4 years old?
