HP Notebook 14-an013nr (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

After doing the Windows 10 update I am now unable to move past this Automatic Repair error. I looked it up here and started with procedure 1 where I press F2 until I get to the PC Hardware Diagnostic screen but I cant even begin that step because that screen says the System Check Command File is improperly formatted or missing!

So I tried Procedure 2 - to make sure Legacy Support is disabled which it was so I moved on to Procedure 3 to determine if the Optane Memory was installed and working correctly but Intel Rapid Storage Technology isn't listed at all so it says to contact customer support so here I am....please help!!

Hi:

This is a peer to peer forum, not HP customer support.

In Canada and the USA, you can contact HP customer support at:   1 (866) 724-8600

If you can't recover the PC, you can make an HP recovery installation USB flash drive using the HP Cloud Recovery Client software.

Here is a link for how to do that...

I know its peer to peer, I was just trying to give all the info I had and how far I got trying to troubleshoot on my own. Thank you for replying but I dont dont the space required on the hard drive to complete it. Do you have any other suggestions?

You're very welcome.

I recommend that you find another Windows PC (maybe a relative or friend) that has a sufficient amount of space to create the recovery media, or you will most likely have to purchase the recovery media from HP at the link below...

That would be the only other suggestion I can offer.

Is there a way to wipe my hard drive clean so I can then have the space available? As of now I cant get even get to windows login yet and the only other pc available to me is a Chromebook which I'm not familiar with at all.

Are either of those options workable for my situation?

Not without another windows PC.

You can make a plain W10 installation USB flash drive using the Media creation tool at the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

You will need an 8 GB flash drive for this.

Boot from the installation media, and when you get to the screen that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' you delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space.

Then you can reinstall W10 and get the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

But again...you will need access to another Windows PC for this process.
