HP ENVY Laptop PC 14-eb1000 (43P77AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I purchased a Envy 14-eb1000 from China and upgraded to Windows 11 Pro.

However after the upgrade, the fingerprint scanner is no longer working.

I tried to:

1. Update driver,

2. Update windows

3. uninstall driver then the biometric devices no longer shown under device manager.

4. download driver from hp,

5.Then i tried a fresh install on windows 11 Pro , still does not show up under device manager (click on hidden devices) and also an unknown usb device showed up as failed.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

This seems like a driver limitation for Windows 11 Pro, however, you can try this driver: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-envy-laptop-pc-14-eb1000/2100800502/sw... refer to Associated files as well.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

This seems to be a driver compatibility issue. As we have tried all the troubleshooting steps from our end, think this issue needs some additional technical assistance that can be better provided through one-on-one interaction with our HP Support team.
