Hello Everyone,
So I have been having some awful issues with the Nvidia MX250 GPU to the point that disabling it and relying on the UHD 620 is better. I get fluctuating performance in games (300fps ~ 20 fps) and insane input lag when using photoshop/autocad (mouse feels like it is delayed and moving through something thick). After researching online I've found many people suggesting to get the default manufacturer driver, but in my case I am unable to install it as it says (Driver is not supported on this OS version 10.0.19042). Im on Windows 10 20H2 build 19042.928.
How Can I reset the Nvidia MX250 driver to the default one that ships with it or the manufacturer recommended driver ?

I figured out how to fix it by going to C:/hpswsetup and finding the original nvidia driver, uninstalling the installed one completely and then running that. Its a shame that HP hasnt updated the drivers in a while. But yeah I never used a hybrid laptop before so I didnt know about OEM driver issue.
Anyway thanks for your time. Bless you.

With laptops, you critically need the OEM drivers as Nvidia drivers nearly always do not work when downloaded from their website.
Problem is, lots of folks are reporting HP driver issues after updating Win10 to v20H2 -- and these are due to the lack of new drivers from HP. Unfortunately, HP is providing us no information on when, or IF, they will be updating these drivers.
So the only working solution at present is to use Windows Update to uninstall the latest update in the hopes that rolling back to a previous version, the drivers will then work properly.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP
