When trying to load Windows 11 install USB it fails to find the hard drive.  The cloud fails to write to the USB using the HP cloud recovery.

I wouldn't be able to help you with why the cloud recovery tool isn't working.

You can try a different USB drive if you have one.

I currently don't have a 32 GB USB flash drive available to see if I can make a recovery drive for your notebook.

But I can help you with clean installing W11 from a USB flash drive.

The reason W11 isn't finding the drive during the installation is because Windows doesn't have the Intel storage controller drivers as part of Windows driver database needed for windows to find the drive.

Intel and Microsoft have had 4 years to figure this out and still nothing.

I have zipped up and attached the storage controller drivers used for PC's with the Intel 11th > 13th gen core processors below.

Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.

Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.

Boot from the Windows installation flash drive.

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.

That works, it now can see the hard drive.  The only issue now is, it wont let me install windows on it because it says the hard drive isn't a GPT partition and it wont allow me to delete it.

OK, so now that Windows can find the drive but the drive is formatted with the MBR partition table for some reason, you need to clean the disk using the Diskpart utility.

Boot from the installation media and when you get to the part of the script that asks, 'Where do you want to install Windows, do this:

  1. Press Shift+F10 from inside Windows Setup screen to open a command prompt window.
  2. Type diskpart and press the Enter key.
  3. Type list disk to find your disk number.
  4. Type select disk (e.g., select disk0) to choose the disk you want to format.
  5. Finally, type clean to wipe the disk completely.
  6. Exit diskpart

Then continue with the Windows installation and the F6 drivers.
