Hi @hsyndmr3, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you’ve forgotten the BIOS password on your HP Pavilion Gaming laptop and can’t access the BIOS settings, there are a few methods you can try:

Reset via HP Support: HP can assist with resetting the BIOS password if you can provide proof of ownership. Visit the official HP support website and contact customer service for a password reset.

Resetting the CMOS (Battery): If you cannot find the BIOS battery, it might be hidden under the keyboard or near the motherboard. In some HP laptops, the CMOS battery is located on the motherboard itself, and removing it for a few minutes can reset the BIOS settings. This method might require you to disassemble the laptop. If you're comfortable with it, you could try this or consult a professional technician.

Perform a Hard Reset: For some HP laptops, a hard reset (without removing the battery) might work:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect any peripherals.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds.
  • This can reset the hardware and may sometimes clear certain settings, though it’s less likely to affect the BIOS password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
