I have recently puchased an Omen 15 laptop. and having charging issues
I am currently abroad and did not bring a power adapter with me so I bought a Trust laptop charger
The Problem is - it will only charge when laptop is turned off. When on, the red indicate is on, laptop is charging for 5 seconds and then stops and light changes back to white.
Everything worked fine with my original charger and probably will once I am back home
But I need a solution for this
Any ideas what can I do to fix it ?

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand the HP Omen only charges when the device is turned off,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Have you ran the HP Support Assistant to aid with HP updates?
Is there anyway you can get the HP shipped power adapter or a replacement of a genuine HP part?
While you respond to that, Here's a link to help you with Testing and Calibrating the Battery (Windows 10)
Alternatively, try these steps:
The Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery is the driver that communicates between the computer and the battery.
There is a chance that it is corrupted and the below steps should help recover it:
- Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
- Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
- Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,
- Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Thanks for replying
Sadly neither of your solutions fixed my problem
Are there any other ways I should try? Because the problem is 100% not related to my battery/laptop. The day before I opened the thread I was in my country and it worked perfectly fine with my genuine charger

Greetings @Noy11, I am the @Chimney_83. It looks like you were interacting with @Riddle_Decipher, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.
Thanks for the reply and trying the suggested steps.
Did you install all the updates using HPSA?(Including BIOS and Chipset)
Did you run a test on the battery and AC adapter as suggested? Click here. (Component test)
Did both the tests pass?
If you have tried the above steps and uninstalled the battery controllers as suggested.
Recommend you try a push button reset on your computer and check. Click here for assistance.
Keep me posted.
