I am unabme to login to computer after recent update.  I get to the screen that has my name and the password box, but nothing happens after I click in the box.  I type the password, but nothing appears in the box.

@Battat,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are unable to login to the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

  • What is the operating system you are using?
  • Have you tried using an external keyboard or the onscreen keyboard to login?

Meanwhile, based on your description, it looks like the keyboard is not working correctly on the computer. I recommend you try using an external keyboard and check whether you are able to log in.

Or you can use the on-screen keyboard to login to the computer.

Here is how you can use the onscreen keyboard on the login screen.

At Windows 10 login screen, click the Ease of Access icon at the bottom-left corner. From the popup menu, you can select On-Screen Keyboard, and then use it to type your Windows password.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
