Good morning.
Since highet heating summer days last here in Italy (more than 40° C ) Windows battery indicator gone wrong.
It says always "92% plugged but not charging" and nortebook shuts down suddenly when gauge says about 35 / 40% after about 2,5 / 3 hrs using (great time for a 2 years old Hp, but gauge should work better so notebook can ibernate itself or give me a onscrenn notice, as before)
Notebook got 2 years life, UEFI diagnostics says Battery OK (only 120 cycles used and cells over 4000 mah each) but I cannot access to force manual calibration.
I already left notebook shutting down, but % is never zero, andf full charge is never 100% according to Windows10.

Good morning.
I made everything suggested once more.
Win10 battery gauge still locked on 92% and not charging, and shutting down at 40% without any warning.

Greetings @InkeIt,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that your computer shuts down when you disconnect the power adapter, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to help.
Have you replaced the battery on your computer?
May I know the exact product number of your computer? Click here. Please do not share the serial number of your computer.
Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the battery and the power adapter.
Wait for a minute.
Connect only the power adapter and power on your computer.
Once the computer boots to the desktop.
Open device manager by doing a right-click on the Windows button.
Uninstall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
Please delete the driver when prompted and restart your computer couple times.
Shut down the computer.
Install the battery and power on your computer and check if this resolves the issue.
Also, run HP Support Assistant to make sure BIOS, chipset and other drivers are updated on your computer. Click here to know more about HPSA.
Let me know if this resolves the issue you are facing.

I already made the usual checks. Updated bios, uninstalled drivers, removed battery, checks, etc etc. It changed only one thing: Notebook shuts down after 30 mins without any warning, battery 3/4 charged.
So, one of two is lying to me: Battery or win10. I assume win10 because I used a old spare notebook full working on win10, and gauge correctly showed how much fast the old battery was discharging

Unplugging and continuing booting, notebook shuts down in seconds.
I have no problem using a bit old battery, but I would like for it to report correct remaining charge so I can estimate my time
