Hi,
I bought a hp omen 16wf-1000, having several unused licenses of windows 11 pro, I bought the freedos version with the idea to use one of my license keys. The problem is that the storage drivers are not available for this notebook, and the usual drivers used on other products are not compatible. Have you any idea how I can resolve this problem ?

Your notebook has an Intel Core 13th gen processor, which requires the Windows installation setup have Intel RST storage controller driver to detect the storage drive.
You can follow the steps below to complete the Windows installation:
1. Use a Windows installation usb drive created with Microsoft media creation tool (an ISO file-based installation media tends to cause errors during the IRST driver installation).
2. Download Intel RST driver for Intel 11-13th gen processors from the link below. Run it as administrator and follow on screen instructions to start a driver extraction process.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp146501-147000/sp146929.exe
3. Go to C:\SWSetup\sp146929. Double click the folder and copy the F6 folder to the root directory of a Windows installation usb drive. The F6 folder contains IRST drivers which the Windows installer needs to detect the storage drive.
4. Connect the usb drive to the notebook and boot the system from the usb drive. When you are asked where to install Windows, click on Load Driver. Click on Browse and click the usb drive in the window that opens. Click the F6 folder then OK. Check the box to display compatible drivers.
5. If multiple drivers are displayed, pick one and click OK. If no drivers are displayed, uncheck the box and pick one of any "iaStorVD.inf" drivers and click OK.
6. If the storage drive is displayed, select it and click Next to proceed the installation.

Thank you sir,
now I understand that the problem is not HP but Intel. Unfortunately the CPU is not a 12th or 13th generation but it is a I9 14th generation and nothing seems to work. I cannot see what is in the HP ftp folder but I presume that the solution is in some sp<number> around there.

Hi, @Marco3221
Try the Intel storage controller driver that I zipped up and attached below:
This comes from a new HP PC model series with Intel 14th gen core processor's support page.
Unzip the file to its folder.
Copy all of the files in the folder to a USB flash drive.
Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the W11 installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Click Next, and hopefully W11 will install.

Thank you very much but it does non run.
It is not an hardware problem because for example Linux works properly, I'm not a gamer, but I use this PC to work with AI due to the terrific hardware equipment but I would try something that is able to obtain the full power from this machine.
I'm sincerely asking to HP if this PC has ever been released with windows and in this case why they do not publish the driver to allow an ordinary installation with a full license also because they do not allow to disable the VDM in the bios. I'm a bit confused about this approach, anyway if I'm wrong about this and you have news about compatible drivers please let me know.
Thank you again for your help.
