Hi @Kay2560

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP laptop is stuck on a screen that isn’t responding, and it’s frustrating when you can’t get it to work. If it’s displaying an image like a crash screen, here are some steps you can try:

Force Restart:

  • Hold down the power button for about 10-15 seconds until the laptop turns off completely. Wait a moment, then turn it back on.

Boot into Safe Mode:

  • As soon as you turn it back on, repeatedly press F8 or Shift + F8 to see if you can access the advanced boot options. From there, select "Safe Mode."

Use Recovery Options:

  • If you can’t access Safe Mode, try turning on your laptop and, as soon as you see the HP logo, repeatedly press the F11 key. This should bring up the recovery options where you can troubleshoot.

Check for Hardware Issues:

  • Make sure there are no loose connections, especially with RAM or any peripherals. If you’re comfortable doing so, check the inside of your laptop for any obvious issues.

Create a Bootable USB:

  • If you have access to another computer, consider creating a bootable USB with Windows installation media. You can use this to attempt a repair.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
