Hi @Jsjdkahdjh

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue on your HP Pavilion x2 Detachable where it's not powering on after running out of battery and charging, and you’re seeing a slow orange LED light flash. That typically indicates an issue with the battery charging or a hardware-related problem.

Let’s walk through some troubleshooting steps to try and fix this:

1. Check the Charger and Charging Port

  • Ensure the charger is working: Check the charging adapter and make sure the charger is properly plugged into the laptop and the wall outlet. If you have another charger that is compatible, try using it to rule out the issue with the charger.
  • Inspect the charging port: Check if the charging port is clean and free from debris. If the port looks damaged or worn out, that might be a cause of the issue.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

Sometimes a hard reset can resolve issues with charging and power:

  • Unplug the charging cable and detach the keyboard (if it's detachable).
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to a minute.
  • After releasing the button, plug the charger back in and check if the laptop responds.

3. Battery Reseating (Already Done)

Since you mentioned you’ve already removed and reinstalled the battery, ensure the battery connection is properly seated. Loose connections could cause the flashing orange LED, indicating charging issues.

4. Check for Overheating

If the laptop has been plugged in or charging for too long, it might be overheating or has gone into a thermal protection mode. Allow the laptop to cool down for about 15-20 minutes before trying to turn it on again.

5. Check the LED Flashing Pattern

The slow orange LED flashing can indicate a specific issue. Typically:

  • One flash: Battery is too low or failed.
  • Two flashes: Battery charging issue.
  • Continuous flashing: General system error.

If you notice a pattern in the flashing, you can consult the HP website for more specific information about your laptop model and its LED error codes. If it’s related to battery failure, that could mean the battery needs to be replaced.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
