Pavillion dv9410us
Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)


i have a hp9410us pavillion laptop. I have a brand new harddrive with vista 64 bit operating system. I got two errors 1) i cant see my internal dvd (which works fine)drive. 2) i lost sound got a " X " on speaker icon on lower right handside icon. I was able to see the dvd drive ( if i delete internal hdds controller etc...in device manager and reboot) for only few minutes but it then disappears!! Help!!

Sorry, but I don't have very good news for you ...

Ordinarily, I would suggest you go to the HP drivers page for your PC and download the chipset drivers, which typically include drivers for stuff like SATA ports and optical drives, and reinstall the drivers.

Problem is, HP has not supported your PC with Vista for years, so I am unable to find an HP drivers page for you.

Others on this forum have access to drivers I don't have, so if one of them can find such drivers and post a link for you, then there may be something you can do.

Otherwise, with such an obsolete OS, you are currently out of luck.
