Hi @Shann53,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP computer is stuck in a loop during the Windows installation process after a system recovery. This can happen due to various reasons, such as corrupted system files, faulty hardware, or incomplete recovery processes.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
- Perform a Hard Reset: Sometimes, performing a hard reset can resolve issues related to software loops. To do this, turn off your computer, disconnect all peripherals and external devices, and then remove the battery (if it's removable). Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power. Then, reinsert the battery (if applicable) and power on your computer.
- Boot into Safe Mode: Try booting your computer into Safe Mode. Safe Mode loads only essential drivers and system files, which can help you diagnose and fix problems. To boot into Safe Mode, restart your computer and continuously press the F8 key until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu. From there, select "Safe Mode" and see if your computer boots successfully.
- Perform System Restore: If you have any system restore points created before the issue started, you can try restoring your system to a previous state. Boot into the WinRE, choose the System Restore option, and follow the on-screen instructions to select a restore point.
- Reinstall Windows: If none of the above steps work, you may need to reinstall Windows from scratch. You can use installation media (such as a USB drive or DVD) to reinstall Windows. Make sure to back up your important files before proceeding with the reinstall.
