Hi @Sonu1986,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The message "HP Sure Start detected an unauthorized change to the secure boot keys" indicates that the HP Sure Start firmware has identified a potential issue with the secure boot configuration. Secure Boot is a feature designed to prevent unauthorized operating systems or malicious software from loading during startup.

Here’s how you can address this issue.

Verify Secure Boot Settings

  • Restart the computer and enter the BIOS/UEFI settings. This is typically done by pressing Esc, F2, F10, or Del during startup (depending on your HP model).
  • Navigate to the Secure Boot Configuration or a similarly named section.
  • Check if Secure Boot is enabled. If it is disabled and should be enabled, consider re-enabling it.
  • If Secure Boot is already enabled, proceed to reset the keys.

Restore Default Secure Boot Keys

  • While in the BIOS/UEFI:
    1. Locate the option for Secure Boot Keys.
    2. Select Restore Factory Keys or Reset to Default Keys.
    3. Save the changes and exit the BIOS/UEFI.

Check for Unauthorized Changes

  • If you made recent changes, such as installing a new operating system, third-party bootloader, or updates, these might have triggered the issue. Ensure that the software you installed is trusted and not tampered with.
  • If you suspect tampering, consider running a full system scan using HP’s built-in diagnostics or trusted anti-malware software.

Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware

An outdated BIOS/UEFI may cause conflicts with Secure Boot.

  • Visit the HP support website and download the latest BIOS update for your specific model.
  • Follow the instructions to update the firmware safely.

Disable Sure Start or Secure Boot Temporarily (if necessary)

  • If the system cannot boot and you're unable to resolve the issue immediately:
    1. Enter the BIOS/UEFI.
    2. Navigate to HP Sure Start settings and temporarily disable it.
    3. You can also disable Secure Boot (but this reduces system security).
    4. Save changes and reboot.
  • Re-enable these features after troubleshooting.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
