@Crystel, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP System Recovery for Windows 10 Notebook!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP 15-bn070wm notebook is stuck in a restart loop and showing a blue screen with a QR code, you may need to perform a system recovery. Here are the steps you can follow to resolve this issue:
Step 1: Access the Recovery Environment
- Restart the notebook: Turn off your notebook and then turn it back on. As soon as it begins to power up, press F11 repeatedly until the "Choose an option" screen appears.
Step 2: Choose a Recovery Option
- Select "Troubleshoot": From the options presented, select Troubleshoot.
- Select "Reset this PC": You'll see two options – choose Reset this PC.
- Choose "Keep my files" or "Remove everything":
- Keep my files: This option will reinstall Windows 10 but keep your personal files. However, installed apps and settings will be removed.
- Remove everything: This option will remove all files, apps, and settings, giving you a fresh start.
Step 3: Follow On-Screen Instructions
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset. This process may take some time, and your notebook may restart a few times.
Step 4: Reinstall Drivers and Updates
- Once the recovery is complete and your notebook starts, reinstall any drivers and updates. You can download the necessary drivers from the HP Support website.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

I did everything you said to do and it came on like normal, but it freezes a lot and I was watching a show on peacock and the computer froze and the blue screen showing reset PC came up again.

@Crystel, Thanks for the update, and I’m really sorry to hear the issue came back — I know how frustrating that can be, especially when you're just trying to relax with a show.
Since the notebook is still freezing and bringing up the blue screen, it could point to a deeper software or hardware issue. Here are a couple of next steps you can try:
1. Run a System Diagnostics Test:
Power off your notebook.
Turn it back on and immediately press Esc, then F2 to open HP Hardware Diagnostics.
Run the System Test and especially the Memory and Hard Drive tests to check for any underlying hardware issues.
2. Consider a Clean Installation:
If diagnostics don’t show issues and the reset didn’t help long-term, a clean install of Windows using a USB might be the best route. You can create a bootable USB with the Microsoft Media Creation Tool and reinstall Windows from scratch.
Hope this helps!
