Hi @MANNNU

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the specific steps to run your laptop as Administrator in Windows:

1. Sign in with an Administrator Account

  • On the login screen, select the account that has administrator rights.
  • Enter the password or PIN to sign in.

2. Verify Administrator Rights

  • Press Windows + R, type control userpasswords2, and press Enter.
  • In the list of accounts, check if your account is labeled as Administrator.

3. Run Applications as Administrator

  • Right-click on the application or program you want to run.
  • Select Run as administrator from the context menu.
  • If prompted by User Account Control (UAC), click Yes.

4. Set Programs to Always Run as Administrator

  • Right-click the program icon and select Properties.
  • Go to the Compatibility tab.
  • Check the box Run this program as an administrator.
  • Click Apply and then OK.

5. Enable the Built-in Administrator Account (if required)

  • Press Windows + S, type cmd.
  • Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
  • Type: net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter.
  • Sign out and you will see the Administrator account available on the login screen.

6. Adjust User Account Control (Optional)

  • Press Windows + S, type UAC.
  • Open Change User Account Control settings.
  • Move the slider to the desired level of notification when apps request administrator access.

These steps ensure that you can operate your laptop with administrator privileges and manage applications or settings that require elevated rights.
