Hello @JANNIKOLAJ
Steps to create a BIOS update recovery USB can be found here- HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Updating the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) (Windows) | HP® Support

For a MAC, you would need to use a third party software to interface with the .exe file. After downloading the file, try Unarchiver:

  • Download Unarchiver (free from App Store)
  • Install Unarchiver
Extract BIOS Files From the .EXE (on Mac):
  • Right-click the BIOS .exe
  • Choose Open With → The Unarchiver
  • It will create a folder containing BIOS files
(usually includes: BIN, SIG, EFI folders)
  • Copy BIOS Files to the USB
  • From the extracted folder:
  • Copy the entire BIOS recovery folder (example: Hewlett-Packard, HP, or BIOS)
  • Paste it onto the root of the USB drive
    (not inside any other folder)
  • Use it to recover the BIOS using the steps in the first link.

Hope this helps!

I am an HP Employee. Although I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
