I have a HP Chromebook and was downloading pictures. I was low on space, so I deleted items and emptied the trash. Next thing I know, all my downloads were deleted in my folder and I can't find them. Is there any way to retrieve my downloads

Hi @Shev5,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I understand your downloads were deleted from your HP Chromebook x360 14a-ca0000, and the Trash has already been emptied. Unfortunately, Chrome OS does not have a built-in feature to recover permanently deleted files. Once files are removed from the "Trash" (or "Bin"), they are typically not recoverable unless:
- The files were backed up to Google Drive or another cloud storage service.
- You used an external storage device (like a USB drive or SD card) and the files were stored there.
Solution You Can Try:
- Check Google Drive: Visit drive.google.com and look in the "Trash" there.
- Check Google Photos: If your photos were synced, they might be in Google Photos.
- Use a file recovery extension: While limited, some Chrome extensions claim to help with file recovery, but their effectiveness is not guaranteed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
