I bought a 15 series notebook. Second hand and then I loaned it out when I got it back. The password had be changed and they can't remember what they are.
How can I do a factory reset? There's an old notebook, doesn't have any real information on it yet, but I'd like to use it

This is one of the main reasons I never loan out any laptops;
Without the password, there is no way to reset it -- and there is no way to work around the password. They have basically hosed up your laptop to the degree that you will now have to take it to a local laptop repair shop and PAY them to provide you access.
I wish we could help you -- but we're not allowed to, since we have no way from here to verify ownership of any computer.
