@demert525252, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

If your HP printer can scan and copy but cannot print from the computer, it usually indicates a communication issue between the computer and the printer. Let's walk through some steps to resolve this:

Check Printer Connection

  • USB Connection: Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer. Try a different USB port.
  • Wi-Fi Connection: Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. You can print a Wireless Network Test Report from the printer's control panel to confirm.

Set the Correct Printer as Default

  1. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP printer and select Set as default printer.
  3. If you see multiple entries for the same printer, remove the ones that are offline or greyed out.

Reinstall the Printer Driver

Sometimes reinstalling the driver resolves communication issues:

  1. Go to Official HP® Support
  2. Enter your printer model and download the Full Feature Software and Drivers.
  3. Uninstall the existing printer software from Control Panel > Programs, then reinstall using the downloaded package.

Check Print Queue

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Double-click your printer and check if there are stuck print jobs.
  3. If yes, click Printer > Cancel All Documents.

Restart Print Spooler Service

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click, and choose Restart.

I hope your issue is now resolved. If not, feel free to reply and we’ll continue helping until everything’s sorted!

If the post helped, please click “Accepted Solution” to help other users easily find it. And if you’d like to say thanks, just tap the “Yes” button!
