Hi @FranJRP
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for explaining that so clearly—it’s definitely disappointing when a feature you were excited about doesn’t show up as expected.
Let’s try a few steps to help uncover what’s going on and get those Copilot+ features working the way they should.
🧠 Step 1: Confirm NPU Activation
- Your laptop includes an AMD Ryzen AI processor, which supports Copilot+ features.
- To confirm the NPU is active:
- Press Windows + X > Device Manager.
- Expand Processors and AI Accelerators (if available).
- Look for entries like AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series or similar.
If the NPU isn’t listed, it may require a firmware or driver update.
🔄 Step 2: Check for Required Updates
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and click Check for updates.
- Install all available updates, especially any labeled Feature Update or Copilot+ Experience Pack.
- Restart your laptop after updates are complete.
🧰 Step 3: Install AI Feature Support
- Visit the support page for your laptop model.
- Download and install:
- AI Feature Support Software
- Chipset and NPU Drivers
- HP AI Companion (if listed)
These packages help unlock Copilot+ features like Recall and Live Captions.
🧪 Step 4: Enable Copilot+ Features
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Recall & Snapshots.
- If the option is missing, try:
- Opening Copilot from the taskbar.
- Clicking the three-dot menu > Settings > Look for Copilot+ Features toggle.
🧼 Step 5: Reset Copilot App (Optional)
- Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
- Find Copilot, click Advanced Options, then choose Reset.
This can help refresh the app and trigger missing features.
If none of these steps bring the features to life, it’s possible the rollout is still in progress for your region or device configuration.
But you’ve got a powerful machine, and we’ll make sure it lives up to its potential. Let me know what you see after trying these steps—we’ll keep going until it’s sorted!
