Hi, I have purchased a Elitebook 8740P that had Windows 10 installed. I need Windows 7 Professional. I have installed 7 with the serial numbers under the battery for the version that came with it. The 7 I have is 32 bit. My problem is several drivers missing. I try to put my product number D3L44UC#ABA. HP does not acknowledge either of these numbers so I know which hardware is in my laptop so I can download the correct driver.
It says I am missing Base System Device, BCM20702A0, Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller, Unknown Device, Unknown DEvice.
Do you have any suggestions on what I should do? I tried to download the SP58838 Driverpack.exe and it says didn't install correctly. Nothing seems to work. Thanks for any help
Jackie

USB driver is under Chipset, BCM driver is Broadcom Bluetooth,Network driver is Broadcom Wireless,Ethernet is Intel Lan.unknown device is probably 3D Driveguard.

Hello @stoney1964
Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome !
Good choice you have made with this Elitebook 🙂
D3L44UC is connected to 8470p, not 8740p (actually I am not aware of 8740p model).
With regards to 8470p, here are the drivers for Windows 7 >> https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-elitebook-8470p-notebook-pc/5212907
Visit the HP website, select your OS version, expand all and download/install them

Thanks for reply Cheryl, I have been on the Driver page but there are several different manufacturers for different hardware and with my serial not showing I didn't know which ones were specific for my machine. So far the ones I have tried didn't work. I will try these you have specified and let you know. Thanks again for help.

I'm sorry I typed that incorrectly. It is an 8470P and I have been on that driver page. There are several different options for things such as the wireless driver. With my product Id and Serial not showing I couldn't pin down which ones I needed. I have tried a couple and so far none have worked. When I put in that Product ID it comes back not found so curious how you made that work. Thanks

I didn't have any luck using the Product ID-D3L44UC- either. I used Elitebook 8470P which you typed correctly in product description at top of your first post. Not sure how/if @IT_WinSec got it to work.
I matched your BT driver from the BCM description which is Broadcom-which naturally indicates Broadcom Wireless also. Only one LAN driver.
Fwiw, usually looking up a model using Prouct ID leads to same drivers list. Best to audit your Device Manager to record all devices before wiping the hdd to install new OS.
