Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Pavillion Laptop, Model 15-eh00002sa, ID 321B7EA#ABU. As of this morning my work laptop needed to do a BIOS update, however as soon as the update was completed, I realised I couldn’t login to my computer because it said that my pin was no longer available due to a change in the security settings, thinking it would be easy to just change it again, instead I’ve had to change my security settings altogether, with HP telling I now have to wait over a month for the changes to go through, I physically cannot wait a month for the changes to happen because this is my work laptop. I even decided to reset my laptop and that s to  didn't work. Along with this, I’ve been trying to get help with this on Twitter but haven’t received ONE response whatsoever, so that has been abysmal in my opinion.

Something does not seem right.  Th e  PIN is part of the Windows hello and can be reset by visiting your Microsoft account.,

If by "pin" you mean your bios password then possibly it might take a month for a government bureaucracy to prove ownership of the laptop and get the password reset.

Is the system booting into a windows login or into the bios password login?

I mean the pin when Windows starts, after the BIOS update it wasn’t available, so I tried to change it but I couldn’t so I’ve had to change my security info.

OK.  I gm guessing that the Microsoft account cannot help with the PIN reset due to email being changed and not secondary contact.  Normally they can send a text message or an alternate email to reset the system.

Whatever.

If you are NOT part of a domain and the laptop belongs to you then the following is possible:

If you need immediate use of laptop you can do a custom install of windows 11 which will leave all your old stuff in a folder where you can access your important files.  Read details and warnings here

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-perform-a-custom-installation-of-window...

You will need to reinstall any licensed software.  That could be a problem, for example, if your license for Office is also at the same Microsoft account where you cannot get the PIN to be reset.

What do  you mean by change the "security info".  I think of that as "town you were born" or "name of first pet".

To do that you need to be already logged into an account.  Did you try thee following
