HP Stream Notebook PC 13
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I wanted to clean out my laptop and start fresh on it because ai had junk on it. So I went to factory reset it. After I reset it, when ever I turn it on now, it just shows the "HP" logo for a few seconds before turning off again. No blinking LEDs or beep codes at all. I then powered it off, used F11 and got to the recovery menu to try to reset my laptop once more. It then let me reset it, but the reset process only went to 62%, then it failed the system reset. It wont let me reset it now and I am confused on what to do next? Could I get some help please?

Basically, the computer is failing to reset because the registry is corrupted. Please do the following:

1. After the Automatic System Repair fails to repair the OS, select “Advanced Options” and “Troubleshoot”.
2. Click on “Command Prompt” to open the command prompt window.(You may need to type in your user password to give administrator access)
3. Type the command: cd %windir%\system32\config and hit Enter on your keyboard.
4.Rename the System and Software registry hives to System.001 and Software.001 by using the following commands:
ren system system.001
ren software software.001
4. Type the word exit to return to the Automatic Repair screen and reset the PC or refresh the PC once again.

Found this out on the Microsoft page to help you out. You can find lovely articles there for any issue.

Okay, you’re gonna have to actually reinstall Windows since the OS is not being detected...My bad, you’re gonna have to get the Windows 10 installation media from another computer and transfer it on this affected laptop with a flash drive. You can download the media file from: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

Sorry misinterpreted the problem, if you have questions on how to install it, please let me know/
