I had a Failure ID on Hard Drive Quick test. What to do?

Hi ,

This is my 3rd new HP Laptop I bought from Amazon in 2 years that has stopped working. I’m not  sure what Is going on. 

HP Laptop 15-da0xx

Intel Core i5-7200U @ 2.5GHz

8192 mb RAM

This is the first time that I ran the Hardware Diagnostics UEFI on one of these laptops that have stopped working for me. (The other two wouldn’t power up at all)

The Hard Drive Quick Test failed and gave me a Failure ID number. 

Is there any way to fix this without having to replace the hard drive?

I used this laptop many hours a day for work  and internet browsing. watching movies, and gaming (with non graphic-intensive games like Sims 4.

I always keep the laptops plugged in.  

  I admit I have dropped the laptop twice ( both times it was about a 1 to 2 foot drop to a hardwood floor) but the computer continued to work for a few months after the drop. So that’s confusing. 

I also had my “sleep mode” option set to delay at least 4 hours or more. Could that cause my hard drive to eventually die? 

Also, strangely enough, there seems to be a static electric shock that happens when I return to my desk and touch the computer. 

To summarize, could dropping a laptop from just 2 feet from the ground cause a serious hard drive failure months later? 

I own up to the fact that thIs is probably a user error :/I Though I had a Toshiba  And a Dell that both lasted for many years. 

That said, can someone please suggest a  durable laptop that might be able  to withstand these issues I mentioned?

Sadly to say: Most of the time the 24 char disk failure id indicates the HDD is failing and it needs to be replaced.. Is it still under warranty ? If NOT, you have to replace yourself then rebuild your machine.
