Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Your issue could be caused because your laptop sucked up too much dust and fibers, etc. and needs to be cleaned.
Please follow this easy-to-follow "Clean the Air Vents in HP Notebooks" HP tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlemDe8c20g&ab_channel=HPSupport. You will need to have compressed ("canned") air.
-If you are up to it and are comfortable opening up your laptop, here is another YouTube tutorial how to clean the air vents and the laptop's cooling fan more thoroughly. Your model laptop is different than the one shown here, but it is basically the same principle. You do need at least a tiny (Philips) screwdriver for this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f070iYtNqA&ab_channel=ScottiesTech.Info.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,
