I have a HP Pavilion dv6 Laptop. Windows 7 was installed (genuine) in it. But I lost the windows OS during an attempt to install Ubuntu . I dont have the windows installation CD with me. What I have is only the Laptop product number and seriel number . the warranty period of laptop is over .. Is there any way to recover that windows OS .

If the Windows partition wasn't formatted perhaps you could boot from a Windows 7 dvd and do a repair?
