I have an Envy laptop;

I never game;

Why am I constantly receiving messages about HP Gaming Hub?

I have updates set automatic for Windows and HP.  This all started Summer 2023.

Is there a way to turn it off?

Seems like documentation is for people who actually use an Omen laptop to do gaming?

Hi @twhitfield09,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

To disable HP Gaming Hub on an HP Envy laptop, you can follow these steps:

Task Manager Method:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc or Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open the Task Manager.
  • In the Task Manager, look for "HP Gaming Hub" or a similar process that is associated with the gaming hub software.
  • Select the process and click on the "End Task" button to terminate it.

Startup Applications Method:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc or Ctrl + Alt + Delete to open the Task Manager.
  • In the Task Manager, go to the "Startup" tab.
  • Look for the "HP Gaming Hub" or a related entry.
  • Right-click on the entry and choose "Disable" or "Enable" to control whether it starts with your computer.

Uninstall Method:

  • If you want to completely remove HP Gaming Hub from your system, you can uninstall it:
    • Press Windows + I to open the Windows Settings.
    • Go to "Apps" or "Apps & Features."
    • Search for "HP Gaming Hub" in the list of installed applications.
    • Select it and click "Uninstall."

Services Method:

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type "services.msc" and press Enter.
  • In the Services window, look for any services related to HP Gaming Hub.
  • Right-click on the service and select "Properties."
  • Change the Startup Type to "Disabled" or "Manual" and click OK.

Registry Editor Method (Advanced):

  • Be cautious when using this method, as editing the Windows Registry can cause issues if not done correctly.
  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type "regedit" and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
  • Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall and look for the entry related to HP Gaming Hub.
  • Right-click on the entry and select "Delete."
  • Additionally, check for any related entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and delete them.

Note:  After following one of these methods, the HP Gaming Hub should be disabled or uninstalled from your HP Envy laptop. Keep in mind that if you disable it, you can always enable it again using similar methods if needed.
