Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a new HP All-in-One workstation, however Windows will not activate. NOTE: The PC has been in storage and is now out of warranty.

Help!

PCs that come preloaded with genuine Windows from HP are already activated.  When you first use them, all you have to do is complete the setup information and you are ready to go.

If this one is asking for a product key and you just bought it, then return it -- because there is nothing we can send you to activate it.

You can try using this utility to retrieve the existing key embedded in the firmware -- but if this does not work, then you are stuck -- and would have to buy your own copy of Windows, install it over the existing copy, and the activate it with the new key that came with the copy you purchased.

I would try a to do a factory restore first. It should work. Unless the motherboard was replaced at some point.
