HP Recommended

The two main limitation of using non-HP OS on a laptop are HP drivers and Windows license. 

 

If you already have HP drivers, and the laptop works, then you can export those drivers to a USB stick and use them on a Windows reinstall later.

 

If you already have a Retail or System Builder license and Windows activated OK with that, then switching over to an HP OEM version is not needed.
