Hi @trish125,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
The "No battery detected" issue on your HP Pavilion x360 - 14-dh1006tu typically indicates a problem with the battery, its connection, or the laptop's ability to recognize the battery.
Since your laptop only turns on when plugged in, it suggests that the battery is not functioning properly or isn't being detected at all. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and possibly resolve this issue:
1. Power Reset Your Laptop
- Shut down the laptop completely.
- Unplug the power adapter and remove any peripheral devices connected to the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Plug the power adapter back in (without turning on the laptop) and see if the battery is now detected.
2. Check Battery Connection
- If you're comfortable opening the laptop, check the battery's physical connection to the motherboard. Make sure the battery is properly seated and that the connector is securely attached.
3. Update Battery Drivers
- Open Device Manager and expand the Batteries section.
- You should see two entries: Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
- Right-click on each entry and select Uninstall device.
- After uninstalling, restart your laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers. Check if the battery is detected afterward.
4. Run Battery Diagnostics
- Use the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool to run a battery test:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it back on and press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
- Press F2 to enter the System Diagnostics.
- Run the Battery Test and follow the on-screen instructions.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @trish125,
Please check the remaining steps below.
5. BIOS Update
- Ensure that your BIOS is up to date, as outdated BIOS can sometimes cause detection issues with the battery.
- You can download the latest BIOS update from the HP Support website.
6. Battery Health Check
- In the HP Support Assistant, check the Battery Health to see if it shows any issues or errors with the battery.

If the problem persists after trying all these steps, it's likely a hardware-related issue, either with the battery itself or the motherboard. In this case, it would be best to reach out to HP phone Support for further assistance and repair options.
